Studio Open Week in Chesham
Website Changes...You might notice things look a little different around here...! My new website is getting closer to completion, it will be bigger and better, with functionality to buy equipment, workshops and art, direct from the site, with lots of other info and help for you. The font change on this site is all part of the transition, and eventually, the two sites will be merged into one. Please bear with me during this cross over, tech isn't my strongest point, I'd much rather be painting, so sometimes I do...! 😉 Sadly, I won't be exhibiting in Herts Open Studios this year, I have loved participating over the past five years, but have put it on hold until I have permanent studio space again. I have however, put an advertisement in the back, and am still here to show you how to paint with beeswax, and to help you with any supplies you may need. Check out my Online Courses and Wax Supplies Pages to find out more. Important studio update... I have taken the decision to move out of my art studio, and sadly, will be gone by the end of March 2017… For more around my decision and plans, read here. New Online Course... Have you been wanting to try your hand at encaustic wax? Have the kit, but don't know how to use it...? Been intending to do a course, but the dates never quite work...? My new Online Course could be the perfect answer!! 'Painting with an Iron' is the first course, and is up and live now. I've had great feedback so far! Visit my Online Courses Page to watch the promo videos, and view five of the videos straight away for free. Hope to see you 'on the inside'... Website Updates.... I am changing my entire website, I will have a new site called artyheaven.com ... It's all taking a little longer than I would like, but I'm so excited at how it's panning out...! In the meantime, please e-mail me at: email@example.com with any questions or queries, or to go onto my mail list to be the first to know when the new site is live! Online Shops & Gift Vouchers... By request I have created two options of gift vouchers, either personalised gift experience days, or generic vouchers which can be used to buy art, workshops, or wax products, in multiples of £5 - £100. See a blog with all the details on here. Online Shops… You can buy my original art work direct from me, or on line through Artfinder. If you like the art, but original art doesn't quite work for what ever reason, I have just opened a Redbubble shop, where you can buy i-phone cases, cushions, note books, and travel mugs with my designs on! This is very new, so will be adding more as time goes on. Other 2015 News... October... Amazing month, working with local beekeepers, doing an iconography egg tempera course with Irina Bradley, and a day at The Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, studying 2,000 year old Egyptian Mummy panels, with two leading UK encaustic wax history experts, utterly amazing... I will elaborate on this in a separate post. Herts Open Studios… I took part in Herts Open Studios in September 2015, where artists all over Hertfordshire will be opening their doors for you to view their work. It ran from 5th - 27th September and was amazing. Click here to find a local venue to pick up a brochure, or download a PDF. Periscope… Follow me @Julie_WaxArtist - My latest go to social media station, you can read a blog about my first few weeks here. Social Media Links… Some of my social media links are being temperamental click here for Twitter & Facebook Hertfordshire Life interviewed me about my encaustic wax work and published a great three page article in their January 2015 edition.
